aprentas operates a separate vocational training school for the chemical industry on behalf of the canton of Basel-Landschaft.
The aprentas vocational training school has been the first vocational training school in North-West Switzerland with a quality management system that has been certified under ISO 9001 and with a technical Federal Vocational Baccalaureate that has been unreservedly recognised by the Swiss authorities. Since the 2015/2016 school year, aprentas has been offering the Federal Vocational Baccalaureate in Life Sciences. Training in the vocational training school is aligned with the practical training in the apprenticeship companies and provides the apprentices with:
the theoretical knowledge required for learning and pursuing a career
consolidated general knowledge, primarily in relation to communicating and understanding connections in society and business
compulsory electives in special lessons in explicit agreement with the apprenticeship companies under the heading "supporting the best"
advanced knowledge in English through preparatory courses for the "First Certificate of English" and also via an intensive two-week language course in London run by aprentas during the 2nd training year; two weekends in Paris and Edinburgh are also offered to those completing the Professional Baccalaureate as preparation for the final oral examinations
support from specially trained teaching personnel to help apprentices experiencing minor difficulties successfully complete the apprenticeship certificate
